Founded by Galician designer and artisan Amalia Puga, Proxecto Bolina incorporates local artisans from the local village of A Guarda into her creations. By collaborating with net makers, ceramists, metal workers and carpenters, Amalia seeks to give a second life to crafts at risk of disappearing, and give them a future through design. Inspired by her grandparents, and the local fishing culture, she incorporates discarded material from sea into every piece, combining this with traditional handcraft and techniques from the local woman net makers.
Amalia created Proxecto Bolina as an initiative to innovate from rural areas, and give visibility to stories which deserve to be told.
