Proxecto Bolina was founded by the designer Amalia Puga, who in 2024 decided to return to her hometown to create this initiative. Her aim is to incorporate artisans into the design process, offering an opportunity for local craftworkers to innovate and have a future.
Through Proxecto Bolina, Amalia collaborates primarily with the Association of Women Netmakers of A Guarda, a collective of artisans dedicated to repairing fishing nets. After studying their technique closely, Amalia decided to combine the technique, tools and knowledge of the redeiras with the possibility of design. As a result, objects from jewelry to furniture and lighting are created, bringing visibility not just as a technique and a material, but also the story behind it.
Along with the redeiras, Amalia produces all of her structures and prototypes with the local metal worker Diego, a craft worker who is also committed to creating locally. On the other hand, the ceramist Leandro Alonso is in charge of creating every porcelain piece of the Nudo collection, among others.
